A New Doo

Well, I finally did it. I let Ella's luscious golden locks be cut. It actually wasn't that hard of a decision. They weren't really luscious golden locks anymore. They were more like tangly, ratty, stringy locks that were always pulled back in a pony tail or Laura Ingal braids. Similar to her Aunt Sara's hair growing up. (see Jenny's birthday post to Sara)
Apparently she had enough to donate to locks of love. Aren't we so giving? Some poor soul is going to get a wig made up of food encrusted, ratty hair.
I almost felt like I should be holding on to these things for a scrap book or something, given it was her first real haircut (yes, she's seven). But, I don't do scrap books. Anyway, they will sort of end up in a scrap book, since they will become a wig, and someone will wear that wig, and someone will take a picture of someone wearing that wig, and then someone will put that picture of someone wearing the wig made up of my daughter's first haircut, into some sort of photo/scrap book. I decided it is pretty much the same thing.
Here she is getting is styled.
And here is the final unveiling!! I love it, so if you don't, then there is no need for you to comment. Only praises are welcome on this post.

Love it!!! I can't wait to see the real thing. I hope they make the wig exactly the same as the hair cut. It is THAT cute.

That new hurrdid IS adorable! Does she have some natural curl? Cuz if so, she and I are kindred spirits.

And I heart your six degrees of scrapbooking approach. That is going to save me so much time!!!

I'm done scrapbooking after reading that. I'm in the background of tons of photos that are in scrapbooks.

I love her new haircut! (but that's all I'm allowed to say, so do I really?) But I really do! (but do I really?)

True to form that one^^.

I happen to love girsl hurrdids done bobbed up like that. I've always said if I ever had a girl she would have a little bob. Fact.

You DO realize how much she looks like you right?

And now I've found my VALID reason that I haven't scrapbooked in 6 or so years.

Maybe that wig will end up on a doll and then in turn will end up on a baby boy in some scrapbook. Get it? Love the hair do. She would be cute with any haircut.

Makes you wander now where the doll wig hair really came from. I don't think I'll be touching those anymore. Maybe the previous owner had shingles, or lice and that's why they shaved it off and sold it for a doll wig. Or maybe it came from a leper.

It looks so good!! She is so super cute though, that she always looks good but I really love her hair short.
I think it would have been cooler to just glue all that hair to some scrap booking paper. Maybe add a few stickers to it and border the page with some scissor stamping. It would have been my favorite page in your scrapbook.

She looks adorable, no surprise there. I wish my hair was that curly...

Meg is just about ready to donate for her third time. She was about seven the first time, and started a little trend in her 2nd grade class....four more little girls headed down to donate the next week.

I'm really campaigning these days to get it done soon...I'm tired of the ratty stringy hair myself.

So when is Dwight dragging you guys back out here?..there's another jar of jam in it for you. :0)
